An opportunity to create something abstract, based on an architectural lighting feature at a home in Lostock
Client: Red 11 Ltd.
When: February 2021
In early 2021, my good friend Adam Patton approached me to design a brand and identity for his private limited company, Red 11. The brief was simple and being a very small company, he wanted something to represent him as an individual. The brand wasn't going to be emblazoned on anything in particular as such, but was necessary to promote him and his strength in being a skilled project manager and consultant within his field of expertise.
With the coronavirus pandemic in full swing and the mass move to homeworking where possible, Adam was in the process of having a bespoke office built at his home in Lostock. The architectural features included a styled number 11 lighting design (see plans below), which he wanted to serve as a backdrop when on Zoom calls with clients and colleagues. This formed the basis of the final identity design.
Paired with the typeface Panton (featuring its Italic styles and Black weight), the brand was completed with a red and black colour scheme.
